New Referee Class Announced for this Spring
1/25/2012 5:21:27 PMWant to earn some money doing something you really enjoy? If you're at least 12 years of age come out and become a Referee. We’ll work around your personal schedule. You can choose your own days and times. How many jobs give you those options?? Check out the information below and join us at the Referee classes. Pay is good and it’ll make a great part time job!!
New Referee Training:
New Referees attend a two-day course. Instruction is provided by the State's most qualified instructors at the DASC office. Course material covers the FIFA Laws of the Game, and the procedures and mechanics Referees use throughout each match. Graduates of the course are typically assigned to U10, U12, and U14 recreational matches. There is no fee for the course, but new Referee registration with USSF is $40 for Referees under the age of 18, and $45 for adults, which includes a $5 fee for an annual background check for adults. Attendees must attend both days of class, field training (see below), and pass a certification exam in order to become certified.
Date: Saturday and Sunday, March 17/18: Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (with a 1-hour lunch break), Sunday 1:00-7:00pm
Prompt arrival and active participation typically reduce the class time. We don't normally expect the New Referee training to last the full amount of time allotted.
Field Training: New Referees are required to attend a field training session with advanced Referees, to "learn the ropes" of refereeing in a practical, hands-on manner. Dates and locations for field training will be provided during the classroom training. Referee certification is not complete without the field training, so we'll do our best to accommodate everyone's schedules, within reason.
Attendees, Please RSVP to the DASC office NO LATER THAN March 9, 2012. There will be some materials provided to attendees, which they are expected to review and know prior to the course. Late sign-ups cannot be facilitated.
