Tryout Procedure

(DASC has established some new guidelines in regards to tryouts)

Invites/bids for DASC players will be made on or after 8:00 a.m. of Friday, July 1st, 2011.

A player has 48 hours to respond to their invitation, which means that DASC will retain a roster position for that player for 48 hours. If DASC has not received a response from the player, the invitation can be deemed declined and offered to another player. If a player responds after 48 hours, that player can still be accepted onto a team if there are roster spots available.

On July 1st, the roster of players for all teams will be announced.  The numbers from the tryout shirts of the selected players will be posted with their team on the DASC website at www.dakotaalliancesoccer.com.

We strongly recommend that all players check our website and respond by e-mail to the coach that is designated on the website as soon as possible on July 1st, 2011.  If DASC has not heard from a player who has been extended an offer, a DASC coach may call the player.

All players who participate in competitive tryouts will receive one of three bids: Rostered spot, Alternate bid or a Decline bid.  A rostered spot bid means the player has been offered a position on the team.  An alternate bid is similar to a wait list in that the player may be given a rostered spot if a spot becomes available.  A decline bid means the player has not received an invitation to participate in the competitive program and will be encouraged to participate in one of our recreational programs.

DASC will roster 1 team in each age bracket and gender unless number and quality of players trying out justifies having 2 or more teams.  We also advise that if there are not enough players trying out in a specific age bracket, there may be no team for that particular age group.  However, we could combine multiple age groups to form a team.

Please make sure DASC has alternative phone numbers for you if you are going to be out of town on or around July 1st. Please contact the Director of Coaching for any further questions or concerns regarding tryouts and/or the tryout process.

Thank you for participating in the DASC tryout process.
